Does a fan help the xbox 360 from over heating?

I just wanted to know does a fan help your xbox 360 from over heating. I bought a cooler but i heard rumors that the coolers make things worse so i heared that all i have to do is keep it in a good not enclosed area with no carpet and put a fan on it so it would keep cool so does it really help.please give more tips on keeping the xbox cool.I am trying to do this because it is an elite and i love it and i dont want it to get the red ring of death or over heat and mess up.

what is an easy way to keep my xbox 360 from overheating?

I Play it in the basement where its usually fairly cool 50 to 65 degrees farenheit. should i be worried and what can i use around the house to keep it from overheating? Or i guess if there are any good commercial products that help im open to suggestions.

My 360 overheated yesterday and I let it cool down overnight and it still won’t turn on…do I have to do something else also?

Is it possible to transfer saved progress from one Xbox 360 hard drive to another?

I am thinking about getting an Xbox 360 elite but I already have a bunch of stuff on my regular Xbox 360 hard drive. I want to be able to put it all on the big 120 GB hard drive that comes with the elite. I know that you can also buy them separately but I figure I might as well get the elite because it also looks cooler.

Do I have to buy xbox themes and if not where can i get them from?

I recently got a xbox360 and I would love to put some cool themes on it. I know the ps3 has quite a few that I downloaded for free. All the ones I see on XBox live are for games and movies….WEAK

How do i record video from my xbox 360 directly to my mac computer

i want to record some really cool stuff that i’ve been doing on my xbox 360 to my mac. my mac has a video camera built into it and i use a program called imovie to capture it. the video goes directly from the built in camera to the i movie program and i can watch it while i record it. the way i’ve been recording things is i sit my computer in front of the tv, play the game, and while im playing im recording it with the built in camera. i want to start doing it the way the pros do it where the video and audio is perfect, where the xbox goes into my computer and records what im doing on it. ive been hearing things about a video capture card but i dont know exactly what that is. please tell me what i need to do.

What is the “red ring of death” for xbox 360 that comes from cooling things? Anyone know?

Anyone know what it is?

Also, what are some kick butt (cool) accessories to get for it also?
