definately don't use the intercooler. I found burn marks in mine cause the manufacturers didn't make sure that the power cords fit tightly enough. If you blow a fan it, it should be fine. Well it doesn't matter just make sure you send in the warranty cause every box breaks eventually. Probably so microsoft can make more money on warranties.

Most of those "cooler" add-ons work off the principle of pulling more air into the console and exhausting the warm air out of the back.. People who experienced the most problems had their 360s in an entertainment center or squeezed into a space beside their TVs where there wasn't anywhere for the warm air to go so it would circulate back through the console, getting warmer with each pass.. I heard of one person complaining of the fan actually melting to the back of the console and voiding their warranty..

You would do well by using a small fan in tandem with your cooler if you still have it.. Nothing huge or "work shop" style.. Just something to keep cool, dry air circulating around the console.. Oh, and don't try to cheat by putting it on or near an AC vent.. This may create condensation inside the unit, which would probably brick your beloved Elite as well.. (Great system by the way!) Hope this helps..

I read an article that Microsoft is now speculating that a lot of the internal problems are occurring when things are being jarred loose because of console being moved around too much. We use to take ours with us everywhere and we have had to send our consoles in 4 different times, so maybe ???
We don't move it around so much now.
As for the inter cooler, they cause more problems than they help(lagging, freezing up,and worse) Microsoft advises not to use them and it could void your warranty if they knew that you used one.
Advise... Keep your console horizontal, using it vertically has been known to damage discs and it cause the system to work harder. If you have to move it make sure it is off and if it is being moved to far put it back in the box to move it with the Styrofoam to help absorb any shock. Don't put it in an enclosed space, like an entertainment system, give it plenty of space to "breathe", and dust it regularly so that accumulation won't get sucked in to the system.

Whether or not fans like the Intercooler help or worsen the Xbox 360's overheating problem is still debated.

To help avoid overheating, keep the console in a well ventilated area (not in a cabinet) and avoid long gaming sessions.

fyi, you do have three year warranty from the red ring of death on top of the normal one year warranty.

as long as you take the games out of it before moving it it should be fine! just keep the console in an open area so it can breathe!

Don't worry about moving it while it is off...but if you move it while it is on, say you take it from horizontal to vertical or vice versa, the disc will be ruined.

put primer on it first and spray paint that's the best but take it apart first and only paint the outer shells and battery pack (with no batteries in it) and pant it camo first put a green layer then use artist tape to map out the design
